Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: January 2026

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Discrum. By using Discrum, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Discrum is an early-stage product built by a solo founder. These terms are written in plain language to be clear about what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

What Discrum Provides

Discrum is a web-based collaboration tool that provides:

The service is provided free of charge and does not require user registration or account creation.

How You Can Use Discrum

You're welcome to use Discrum for legitimate collaboration purposes. When using Discrum, please:

If you use Discrum in ways that violate these terms or harm others, we may suspend or terminate your access.

Your Content

You're responsible for any content you create or share while using Discrum - things like display names, votes, estimates, retrospective cards, mood responses, and comments.

You own your content. By using Discrum, you give us permission to store and display it temporarily so the service can work - like showing your votes to other team members or displaying cards on the retrospective board.

Since Discrum uses temporary, session-based storage, your content will be deleted when sessions expire or rooms are closed.

What You Can't Share

Please don't use Discrum to share content that is:

If we find content that violates these rules, we may remove it and suspend access to the room or user.

Service Availability

I do my best to keep Discrum running smoothly, but as an early-stage solo project, I want to be honest:

I'll do my best to minimize disruptions, but I can't promise perfect uptime or availability.

Third-Party Services

Discrum uses third-party services, including Google AdSense for advertising. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. Your interactions with third-party services are subject to those terms.

We're not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of third-party services.

Intellectual Property

The Discrum service itself - the design, code, functionality, and branding - is protected by copyright. You can use Discrum as intended, but please don't:

Your content remains yours - we just need permission to temporarily store and display it so the service works.

Limitations and Disclaimers

I need to be clear about some limitations:

Some jurisdictions don't allow these disclaimers, so they may not apply to you depending on where you live.

If Things Go Wrong

If your use of Discrum causes problems for others or violates these terms, you're responsible for any resulting claims or damages.

This means if someone sues us because of something you did while using Discrum, you'll need to handle it, not us.

Termination

I reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to Discrum at any time, for any reason, including if you violate these terms.

I'll try to be fair about this, but I need to protect the service and other users. If your access is terminated, you'll need to stop using Discrum.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may change as Discrum evolves. When they do, I'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

If you keep using Discrum after changes are posted, that means you accept the new terms. If you don't agree with the changes, please stop using the service.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable laws. If there's a dispute, we'll resolve it according to standard legal procedures.
